Phishla is a product innovated by Cyber Intelligence Sdn. Bhd. which is based in Cyberjaya, Malaysia. Cyber Intelligence specialises in cyber security awareness and behaviour management. The company also runs multiple capacity and capability building programmes in collaboration with various agencies and universities such as CyberSecurity Malaysia, International Islamic University Malaysia and Asia Pacific University, to name a few.
Founded in August 2010 by Sivanathan Subramaniam (CISSP, MSc, CISAM), the company has achieved great heights in the cyber security field especially in the awareness and behavior management. Cyber Intelligence is also a winner of several awards, most notably the Malaysia Cyber Security Awards for Education and Training Provider of the Year for 2015.
Organizations invest heavily on technologies and some in processes to protect their information asset. They often neglect the people who handle and process that information. There are many reasons for this and two of them are, “people can never be taught to behave securely so no point investing in educating them because eventually they will still make silly security mistakes” and “investment on awareness solutions are very expensive so might as well we invest in the best security technologies which will guarantee protection of our information”. Both these thoughts clearly ignoring the fact that most of the cyber attacks are targeted at the people of the organizations mainly via email.
To debunk the myth that people are stupid and cannot be taught to safeguard organization’s information asset we built phishla which can be used as a tool to educate your people and provide key metrics to show that people can in fact be taught to play vital roles to protect organization’s information. To tackle the second problem, we decided to build and provide phishla to our customers at a very affordable cost.
